Meet offers improved background and face separation
Additionally, to help users on devices that aren't designed to best use real-time video effects, these effects can now be processed in the cloud. Meet automatically adjusts between device-based and cloud-based effects processing to provide the best experience, saving up to 30% battery and CPU on your device while optimizing effect quality.
The first effect that supports this ability is:Background blurandLight adjustment Support for additional effects such as background replacement will be added in the future.

- Administrator: There is no admin control for this feature.

- Not available in Google Workspace Essentials, Business Starter, Enterprise Essentials, Education Fundamentals, Education Plus, Frontline, and Nonprofits, as well as existing G Suite Basic and Business customers.
- Not available for users with personal Google accounts.
