Move existing Gmail log locations in BigQuery to Google Workspace Logs and Reports in BigQuery

In the next few months, we will be relocatingGmail logs available in BigQuery Go to the record andGoogle Workspace Reports in BigQuery This change only impacts existing Google Workspace customers who have BigQuery Export enabled. New customers will receive instructions on how to set up a Workspace BigQuery project for Gmail logs.

While this change is taking place, Gmail data will be exported to both Gmail and Workspace logs for a short period of time, and existing Google Workspace customers who are affected will receive an email notification with more information in the coming weeks.

Temporary dual export duration and BigQuery storage requirements When you set up Gmail logs to be exported to Workspace logs, this data is temporarily exported to two destinations:

  • Your previous Gmail-only BigQuery project
  • A new or existing Workspace BigQuery project that stores data for all Google Workspace applications.
